because of wednesday’s comic, i have a couple pictures of elephant seals i printed up still up on my whiteboard at my drawing desk. i think i will leave them up for a while because i want to learn to be more tolerant of these ugly, ugly creatures.
i always wished i had a buffer of comics to put up, wished that i could get ahead, but this is the first time i have really felt betrayed by my slowness in the production of these strips. i feel terrible. i will try to make it in to work do do friday’s comic all nice and pretty (as pretty as 28 pancakes later gets), but if the next few are shakily drawn on notebook paper, it is because my throat is ‘on fire’ and my head is ‘about to explode.’ man, i kind of would like to see that, it sounds gruesome and rad! hope your day is going fantastically and that you do not feel ‘like shit.’

just wanted to wish harvey pekar a fond farewell. the man did a lot to inspire us, to make us laugh, and to piss off david letterman. his work will live on and continue to influence other comic writers for generations, i am sure. cheers, harvey.
i have changed the title of this comic to hey dracula! it can now be found (if you like) at heydracula.com. i have done this for the following reasons:
1) yr mom reads my comic and its associated address, yrmomreadsmycomic.com were too long, and too few people spell “your” that way because not everyone can be “totally hip.” that address will still point here.
2) nebevay.com was very difficult to tell people verbally because then i would have to spell it, and i found it kind of annoying. that address will also still point here.
so that is that. i hope you are okay with this change. i hope you do not mind that it is no longer so ironically self-referential. i hope you do not mind that i named it after a minor character that appears in approximately 5% of the comics i make for you. i am happy about this. i think i am going to be good friends with this change.
BIG EDIT: after discussing and thinking about this with myself and also other people, i have determined that hey dracula! is funny, but it does not accurately sum up this site. dracula is a minor character and i cannot change that due to contractual obligations with the devil. i have changed the name to 28 pancakes later… as it also fits the tone of the thing that i do, and i also think it is funny and easy to remember and spell. 28pancakeslater.com. all previous urls now direct here.)

my cousin asked me if that steak salesman story was actually true. yes. i do not make things up. except for the comics and sometimes other things i write. but yeah. i was no less than 80% “weirded out.” i like my steaks to be “unsolicited” or maybe “incidental.”
